Red Door Studios is David's home studio on steroids located in the beautiful Beaches area of Toronto, Ontario Canada. This is where he composes music for television, writes songs, produces music for other artists and bands and also writes and performs parts as a session guitarist/ musician on other artist's songs worldwide. This includes: electric and acoustic guitar, bass, slide guitar, dobro, banjo, mandolin, ukulele and merlin (4 string diatonic acoustic instrument similar to a dulcimer).

The studio itself is state of the art utilizing a 24 Channel British Allen and Heath console/Logic Pro controller. In addition there are several flavours of additional 500 Series mic preamps including API, Warm Audio and BAE. Outboard compressors include DBX 560A's and the newest addition an awesome Empirical Labs Distressor which makes basically anything sound amazing!

Of course we have a few choice microphones including an Audio-Technica 4050 Condenser, a Shure SM7B Dynamic, a Lewitt LCT 240 Condenser, various Shure SM 57's, (2) Sennheiser 604's, an Audix i5 and (2) SE Electronics SE1A's and a Lewitt DTP 340 REX Kick Drum Mic.

Speaking of drums we recently acquired a 4-piece  Ludwig Breakbeats by Questlove Red Wine Sparkle drum kit!

We also have many great vintage and modern guitars and amps by Fender, Gibson, Rickenbacker, Gretsch, Danelectro, Epiphone and Taylor.

For recording we have great plug-in suites from Waves, Sound Toys, Native Instruments and many others.

Our software/DAW of choice is Apple Logic Pro X.
